Vilnius University
Vilnius University is the oldest and largest Lithuanian higher education institution. Being one of the oldest higher education establishments in Eastern and Central Europe, with more than 24,000 students and 1,500 academic and research staff, Vilnius University is today an important scientific and education centre. Since it's foundation in 1579 by the Jesuits, Vilnius University is an active participant in international scientific and academic activities and famous for many prominent scientists, professors and graduates. The University has 12 faculties, 8 institutes, 10 study and research centres, the oldest Library in Lithuania, 3 university hospitals, an Astronomical Observatory, a Botanical Garden and St. John's Church.

Vilnius University offers a great variety of courses in English, such as five Master Programmes and the Erasmus Mundus Master Course. The University shares international cooperation with many universities, including the membership in EUA and international networks such as UNICA, UTRECHT, BSRUN, etc. The Vilnius University is proud of being the signatory of Magna Carta. With the support of social partners, Vilnius University educates globally-minded specialists who successfully integrate in the modern European community.

EAIR
EAIR - The European Higher Education Society became an independent membership organisation in 1989. Over the years it has expanded considerably and currently has nearly 500 members from 50 different countries all over the world including Africa, South America, Asia and Australasia. EAIR is a unique association for professionals in the area of higher education management and for academics researching that area. These professionals and academics are working in universities, polytechnics and other higher education institutions, primarily but not exclusively in Europe, both in university administration and in academic departments with particular research interests in management issues. EAIR is also of relevance to policy makers in government ministries and policy units. EAIR holds its annual forum in August or September and organises seminars on specific topics that are of current interest. EAIR publishes a journal Tertiary Education and Management (TEAM) and a Monograph Series Research, Policy and Practice in Higher Education. The EAIR Secretariat is located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
